<蛮子门>是一两进以上院子常用的门，有一些作坊也建这样的房门。这是一种将门窗，门框更向前推移，立在前檐柱处的大门。蛮子们之所以把门洞的进深取消，在老北京有一说法：宅主人没有官品，建门时，檐柱额枋间不准装雀替，柱头上少了装饰显得很不美观，既然如此，也就顺势把门彻底前移。

Man Zi Men( Manzi Gate): The Manzi gate is a frequently used gate for a siheyuan with more than one or two courtyard. Some workshops also built such gates. The door and the doorframe of these entrances stand further forward towards the pillars, close to the front eaves. There is a saying of gate in past Beijing, if the holder of the residence has no official grades, his gate would be forbidden to decorate with sparrow brace. Because it seems not so beautiful, so people cancel the spatial depth of gate-hole and thoroughly move the door forward.

蛮子門：四合院でよく使われる門である、少しの町工場もこんな門を造る。この門は門の窓と門の側をさらに前に推移して、前檐柱の大門の前に建てる。蛮子門は出入り口の奥行きを取り消す理由について、老北京でこういう説がある：住宅の主人は官品がない、門を造る時、檐柱の間に雀替(チェーティー)を施すことを禁止して、柱の端に装饰がないのでいかにも美しくない、このようである以上、同様にすぐ出入り口の奥行きを取り消す。
